Background

Born in London and educated at Dulwich and Southampton, where he gained an HND in Building Science, Michael commenced working in the family business, F E Beaumont, in 1973.

He was responsible for major contracts in Guernsey and, as a company director, the installation of over 160 chimneys at the Toyota plant, Burnaston, Derbyshire.

In 1991 he became managing director and was responsible for steering the company through difficult market conditions.

He formed Beaumont Specialist Fabrications in 2001 but realised that the market conditions were such that a highly specialised manufacturing company was not what the market place required at that time.

Beaumont Technical Services was formed to allow his unique industry experience to benefit both existing and new customers on a worldwide basis.

Having relocated to Guernsey, Michael formed Beaumont Specialist Contracting, a Guernsey registered company, to take over all the work previously undertaken by Beaumont Technical Services except those projects which include supply and site work in the UK.

Michael had been a governor of the Marchant holiday school in North Cheriton, Somerset for over 20 years and served as the chair of governors for 10 of them. The school is a charitable organisation for 5-12 year old boys with social, emotional, behavioural disorders and other complex learning disorders
